I absolutely less than three Keith Olbermann from MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. He’s funny and his ongoing rivalry with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly has had me in stitches here recently.

There’s been a bit of a brew-ha-ha lately over an incident on the Bill O’Reilly radio show when he threatened a listener with calling Fox Security after the caller mentioned Keith Olbermann’s name.

Apparently Bill made good on the threat and had Fox Security contact the caller. Keith did a bit on it during his program and actually interviewed the caller.

O’Reilly is an example of talk radio gone terribly wrong.

Although I wonder if I should threaten callers to my show who mention my nemesis with a visit from KPFT security? It could easily put the fear of gawd in them to know that a bunch of disorganized liberal vegans might pay a visit to their home or place of business and stage a peaceful protest.

Yea, there’s an idea.

I’m sure most people have seen www.engrish.com by now. It’s pretty hilarious and worth visiting now and again.

Someone to watch over me

Saint Isidore’s Feast Day is April 4th

St. Isidore of Seville is my patron saint. He patches my operating system and keeps my device drivers current and up to date. He watches over me and delivers me from the BSOD. He gives me strength to ~~smite~~ sooth my users and optimize my network bandwidth. He protects me from viruses and worms and allows no spyware to tempt me. He is my guardian and keeps my identity from being usurped by those who would phish it. St. Isidore insures my passwords and guards my accounts from hackers. He is the firewall that guards me from the Internet barbarians and the pop-up blocker that shields me from unwanted pr0n. He is the encryption algorithm that guards my data and maintains the integrity of my storage devices. He is my backup and my restore in darker times when I lose my way or my faith is waning. He is the sale at Fry’s and the shepherd of increasingly lower prices on computer hardware. St. Isidore ushers in faster processors, cheaper and better video technology and increasingly smaller portable and removable storage options.

St. Isidore watches over me.

I got an e-mail from Christine, the proprietess of Big Pink Cookie. Apparently she is producing a podcast about knitting called Pointy Sticks.

It occured to her that the song I wrote for the Flying Fish Sailors, Poke You In The Eye, would make the perfect theme song for the program. Being the ethical person she is, she sought permission from the author before proceeding and I, being the generous person I am, gave her said permission.

Episode one and two lack the theme song but her husband Mike (www.coffeecorner.org) informed me yesterday that subsequent episodes will feature my little ditty with all the appropriate credits and sundry hoo-ha.

So yea, it’s not the generational anthem I may have envisioned in my optimisic and glory seeking youth, but it’s still cool knowing that small children and domestic adults alike might take delight in singing about poking someone in the eye.

Long overdue Dooley update

Dooley is most talkative in the morning before he is fed or gets his morning treat.Â He’s been saying “good morning” quite a bit and using his nick name of “Doodlebug” which I call him now and again. It’s hard to describe but it sounds like “Good morning dootle-buuuug.” He goes real low in tone on the “buuuug” part. He also says “Dootle-bug treat-um” and “I love you treat-um.”

This morning he was making a new sound and I could not immediately place it. Cynthia recognized it after a bit.

You know the choral “aaaaaaahhh” at the very beginning of the Simpsons theme song?Â Yup….

I fear where this is going….
