Dooley is most talkative in the morning before he is fed or gets his morning treat. He’s been saying “good morning” quite a bit and using his nick name of “Doodlebug” which I call him now and again. It’s hard to describe but it sounds like “Good morning dootle-buuuug.” He goes real low in tone on the “buuuug” part. He also says “Dootle-bug treat-um” and “I love you treat-um.”
This morning he was making a new sound and I could not immediately place it. Cynthia recognized it after a bit.
You know the choral “aaaaaaahhh” at the very beginning of the Simpsons theme song? Yup….
I fear where this is going….
Long overdue Dooley update
just a matter of time before he’s saying “my breath smells like cat food.”
I can’t wait for Dooley to say, “Super Nintendo Chalmers!”
Zulu, my African Grey Timnah, while on my shoulder does a, “Ah-h-h..wee, wee, wee, wee, week.” sound, sometimes along with a sweet gurgling sound in his throat, He’ll do this while bobbing and weaving around, occassionally touching his beak to my face and will go on and on like this for 1/2 hour or more. I get a feeling it’s some kind of mating ritual but I ‘m unable to find any information about it. He’s approximately twelve years old. Do you know anything about this kind of behavior?
