Short drive today through a rather unremarkable part of Norway. We arrived in Oslo pretty early and had to wait a few hours to get checked into our hotel. Temps are in the mid 80s and our hotel has no A/C so that’s a bit of a downer. The main thing we wanted to do this day was visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park. We decided to take the 30 minute walk from the hotel and hoped we wouldn’t get overwhelmed by the heat. We have a 6:30 am flight back to Houston tomorrow so this would our last hurrah. We took it slow and were able to make it without collapsing. Once we were there we were in great shape and enjoyed the park immensely, despite the heat. Tomorrow we catch a 6:30 am flight back to Houston. All in all, this has been a great adventure.
Norway – Day 12 – Røros To Lilihammer Via Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane
Tiny Norway
Norway – Day 11 – Trondheim To Røros Via Hell
Today we drove to Røros, but decided to detour through the small town of Hell to visit the railway station there. Tomorrow we drive to Lillehammer. The scenery along the way was wonderful. We encountered many reindeer on and near the road. In fact, we nearly collided with one that decided to cross the street in front of us.
Near miss!
Norway – Day 9 and 10 – Kristiansund To Tondheim With An Extra Day In Trondheim
Norway – Day 8 – Alesund To Kristiansund
Today we drove from Alesund to Kristiansund. The main attraction on this drive was the Atlantic Road. There was some nice scenery along the way, but the Atlantic Road was the highlight. Some photos and a few GoPro videos as we crossed the series of bridges on this magnificent road. As it turned out, there was a fun run and a marathon going on this day so there was a lot of pedestrian traffic

Norway – Day 7 – Geiranger to Alesund
Today we drive from Geiranger to Alesund. This took us up the Eagle Road and also to the infamous Trollstigen Road. Many twists and turn as we wound our way to Alesund. Great views of the Geiranger Fjord from the top of The Eagle Road
This is a GoPro video of our drive down Trollstigen
Alesund is a fantastic town and probably our favorite city in all of Norway. The city burned down in 1904 and it was rebuilt. The rebuilding adopted the Art Nouveau style of the time so the city is a throwback to that time.
Tomorrow we drive to Kristiandsun.
Norway – Day 6 – Sogndal To Geiranger
Today we drove from Sogndal to Geiranger. Well, we drove from Sogndal to Hellesylt and then took the most scenic ferry ride in Norway to our final destination in Geiranger. The route was very scenic and tranquil, until we hit the goat traffic jam. Which was followed several miles later by a sheep traffic jam. No goats or sheep were harmed.
Tomorrow we drive to Ålesund
