I’m processing several hundred images. I’m not nearly done but while I was going through my shots of The Aqua Velva, one picture in particular caught my attention and I started tweaking it in Photoshop:

I didn’t do much. The motion blur and contrast was pre-existing and I simply expanded upon that. I used a noise filter to clean up some of the roughness and give it an smoother overall texture and amped up the color just a little.

Dude, what a totally awesome shot. There’ve been a few Aqua Velva pics that I’ve liked, but I’ve never really loved the way I look in them (more a comment on my self-image than anything). But this picture rocks!!

This shot definitely captures the exact spirit of the band and for that matter the B-52’s – super exciting, colorful freak show that makes you dance. That’s even without Candelaris mad plaid combo! DO THE AQUA VELVA!

Jay, That picture should be the Aqua Velva promo shot. the energy of the band can’t be captured with a picture of the members standing around even with the crazy clothes and hair.

Thanks again for the Beetle photos, they have been incorporated and interspersed on the Beetle photos page http://www.beetleband.com. I went ahead and imprinted the photos with a credit to you and put a link on the page. rock on.
