Los Skarnales played what has been billed as their “final performance” last night at the Continental Club.

Tesco has been forced to remove a pole-dancing kit from the toys and games section of its website after it was accused of “destroying children’s innocence”.

The Tesco Direct site advertises the kit with the words, “Unleash the sex kitten inside…simply extend the Peekaboo pole inside the tube, slip on the sexy tunes and away you go!

“Soon you’ll be flaunting it to the world and earning a fortune in Peekaboo Dance Dollars”.

The Â£49.97 kit comprises a chrome pole extendible to 8ft 6ins, a ‘sexy dance garter’ and a DVD demonstrating suggestive dance moves.

The kit, condemned as ‘extremely dangerous’ by family campaigners yesterday, was discovered by mother of two Karen Gallimore who was searching for Christmas gifts for her two daughters, Laura 10, and Sarah, 11.

Perspective

I’ve been percolating this one in my mind for awhile. I wanted to play with perspective and thought that posing toy tractors moving pocket sized items would be fun.

I learned alot about using f-stops to give the illusion of size and distance.

Not just Friday the 13th – THE Friday the 13th

On this day in history – Friday, Oct. 13th, 1307

Jacques Demolay, Grand Master of the Knights Templar, and and 60 of his senior knights were invited by King Philip IV of France and The Pope to Paris for a meeting. Under the ruse of this meeting Jacques Demolay and his knights were arrested and later tried and executed as heretics.

It’s a fascinating story.

Goodbye Texas Renaissance Festival, we hardly knew ye

As we are in the heart of the Texas Renaissance Festival season I must confess I am of two minds about not being hired this year.

One the one hand I have the entire series of fall weekends to myself. That means we get to play the Austin Celtic Festival and I can go to the Airshow and the Quilt Festival and do all those things I have been deprived of in the fall as a result of 15+ years of dedication and sacrifice to the festival.

But there are things I miss. There are some very good memories tied up in that experience.

I was poking round the Internets and I found some pictures someone took that time Istanpitta pranked us by dressing as us and parodying the Flu Pandemic a few years ago.
