As you may have heard or read about, many 7-11’s around the country have been remodelled to look like The Kwik-E Mart from the animated television show The Simpsons.

As you could probably guess, this is part of a nationwide promotion for the upcoming Simpsons movie.

Sadly, the closest one to home is in Dallas. There is, however, one here in Seattle.

My old friend Rich who I haven’t seen in over 15 years suggested we swing by before our reunion dinner at the Seattle Space Needle.

Ok, I know I am a dork/nerd/geek but I don’t care. I was pretty excited to see this place.

Apu greeted us as we entered

Ok, he doesn’t LOOK like Apu, but I think he DOES sort of look like Hank Azaria who does the voice work for the Apu character. “Apu” was having the time of his life, getting photographed and declaring himself WORLD FAMOUS! Customers were coming in and taking his picture and offering money to buy his uniform. And yes, as we left he said “Thank you, come again!” We died laughing. It was like going to a rock concert featuring a band you love and hearing them play your favorite song as the encore.

The store was stocked to overflowing with many products you would expect to find at the local Kwik-E Mart.

Krusty-O’s

Donuts with sprinkles

Buzz Cola

A Squishee machine!

And sundry items of various humor

I was tempted by many things, but settled on a single Buzz Cola and a Radioactive Man #1

Best – Promo – Ever

Wow! I am so envious that you got to see the Kwik-E-Mart! Great pics! The Seatlle underround tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Seattle.

    Have lots of fun!

I went to the one in New York City, but the only thing they weren’t sold out of was Buzz Cola. I really wanted a Radioactive Man comic. 🙁

OH, I did manage to snag one of the signs about hot dogs, though!!! Pictures to come eventually.

You made good choices. I wish there was one in Houston, but I’m enjoying everyone’s pictures. As for me a Coke squishee please.

I went to a 7-11 here in St. Louis. The outside wasn’t changed but the signage inside was changed. The soda machine and Slurpee machines were changed. The doughnuts and cold food had those signs too. Unfortunately no cheery Apu for me, just a weird South County Redneck.

You (and half of Flickr, it seems) inspired me! We went to Sunset Station tonight and decided to drive around the corner to the one in Henderson (just outside of Vegas).

Either they were out of Radioactive Man or not stocking it since slot machines occupy the traditional magazine rack space. Otherwise, the decor was pretty nifty and everyone there was having a good time. (Alas, no Squishees of the chutney variety, though.)

(My drastically inferior photos are here; I must plead the pocket camera defense.)

I went to the one in Dallas. I was hoping to pick up some Duff Beer (Can’t get enough of that wonderful Duff!) but sadly, they didn’t have any.

I totally missed-out on the Radioactive Man comic. I guess I’ll have to go back for that (and another Buzz Cola).

Best promo evar, I agree! We stopped off at a 7-11 last night and didn’t notice until we got back into the car… so awesome!
I wish they sold Duff beer too, that’d be sweet.
