A Ruby-throated Hummingbird has taken up station in the back yard and is fiercely guarding the lone feeder in the garden.
Even got a few shots of him flashing his ruby throat!

Hummers!
Great shots! It’s significant that you have these little guys in your yard because they don’t normally show up until the weather is on the verge of turning cooler. Granted, I don’t expect any 70-degree highs in the next couple weeks, but it’s good to see them out.
We live in a condo and one bird showed up on August 14th . We left town on the 15th but I was thinking of them the whole time. On September the first we bought a feeder and attached it to a railing. They showed up that very morning and keep coming often during the day. This morning there were three. I couldn’t be more excited watching them.
One day a four inch green lizard took up residence behind the feeder and they would not touch the feeder. So I shooed the lizard away – he was looking for insects.
Your photos are great and watching them sit on the bushes outside the patio when they are still is also terrific. Seeing the throat turn from bright red to green is just a little miracle in front of ones eyes.
