Shot handheld using the Tamron AF 28-75mm f2.8 XR Di lens. The dragonfly was being VERY cooperative and hanging around as I shot picture after picture.

The auto-focus couldn’t lock in so these were shot using manual focus, which is particularly difficult for me what with the glasses and all…

    Never realized that dragonflies were so camera conscious! You couldn’t ask for better poses.

    Very cool photos. Nice job on the manual focus too! The photos remind me of this weekend which we spent at a cabin on one of the rivers here. I realized that I’m a city girl when I looked at my shoulder and was horrified to find dragonflies copulating there. My pleas to the men in the party to get them off only elicited peals of laughter.
