The Flying Fish Sailors had a very humble, yet ambitious beginning. This is a photo from one of our first live performances (circa 1988) at what was then known as The Wellington Stone on W. Alabama in the Montrose area of Houston.

Left to right: Jay Lee, Greg Henkel and Joseph Linbeck.

It’s hard to imagine that we are coming up on 20 years of performing together.

With just a few of the stories I’ve recently heard about the band, you could write a book!
Here’s to many more years of music (and tech shows)! =)

I still can’t figure out why the wardrobe police didn’t come and haul me away!
I definitely had a penchant for weird outfits!
BTW, this was also one of our first amplified shows (we performed at Wellington Stone 12 times that Autumn).
If memory serves, this was concurrent to the recording of our first album at D.R. Media.
