NOT something I like to see on my caller I.D.

Fortunately it was just the alarm company calling to tell me that they had received a low battery alert on the alarm system. Not that there was an intruder alert.

Of course the low battery alarm probably meant my house was without power (again). I put the Brinks guy on hold and called the house and sure enough, the answering machine was not picking up.

Fearing the worst, I drove home and checked things out. The power was on and judging by the digital clock that was blinking 12:18 power had been back on for 18 minutes. Hopefully it stays on.

Ok, now for the record, how long after I cut your power does it take for the battery to run down?
And how long after that can I expect your arrival?
Just trying to get my window of opportunity right. 🙂

The good news (for me) is that the security company notifies me LONG before the battery goes dead.
